Council on American-Islamic Relations - Texas, DFW Chapter
About Us

What is CAIR-TX, DFW Chapter?

The Council on American-Islamic Relations, DFW Chapter is dedicated to presenting an Islamic perspective on issues of importance to the American public. In offering that perspective, we seek to empower the Muslim community in America through political and social activism.

CAIR-TX, DFW Chapter is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, tax-deductible grassroots advocacy and civil right organization. The national headquarters for CAIR is in Washington, D.C. and there are over 20 affiliated CAIR chapters across America. CAIR was established to promote a accurate image of Islam and Muslims in America. We believe that misrepresentations of Islam today are most often the result of ignorance on the part of non-Muslims and reluctance on the part of Muslims to clearly articulate our beliefs.

CAIR-TX, DFW Chapter was formed in 1994 and since then, we have made a positive impact on the local community, with dozens of stories and consistent coverage in all local mainstream media outlets. CAIR-TX, DFW Chapter representatives regularly appear on local news and media outlets.

As a leading voice for the DFW Muslim Community, we strive to maintain the highest ethical standards in all of our endeavors. In our work towards portraying an accurate image of Islam in America, we offer diverse training presentations, workshops and seminars to empower and motivate the American Muslim community to participate effectively in political, social and civic activism.

CAIR-TX, DFW Chapter has a dedicated full-time staff, board members and volunteers working day and night to help defend the legal and constitutional rights in the workplace, schools, federal agencies and local government. We regularly participate in interfaith and civic dialogues with organizations dedicated to preserving America’s legacy of social justice.

CAIR-TX, DFW Chapter works with various corporations, schools, universities and government agencies providing them with training materials to be aware of Muslim religious practices. We do this by conducting workshops and seminars and have received numerous positive responses from our fellow DFW metro leaders and citizens.

CAIR will continue to serve as a leader in the DFW Muslim community, by striving to improve relations between people of all races, religions and cultures.
