Alia Salem Executive Director

Alia Salem is the Executive Director for the DFW Chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations and is a committed activist working for social justice, understanding and empowerment in her community. Her work with CAIR-DFW has been featured on local, national and international outlets such as WFAA, NBC, CBS, KERA, CNN, MSNBC, FOX, BBC, CCTV, CW33, Washington Post, Time Magazine, Al Jazeera, Univision and Telemundo. Alia graduated Cum Laude from the University of Texas at Arlington with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. Her three focuses of study are in Communications, Sociology and Religion/Culture with a minor in French. As an eighth generation Texan with Egyptian roots, Alia is a proud Fort Worth native and resident with strong ties to the entire DFW community.

Nikiya NataleCivil Rights Director

Nikiya Natale is the Civil Rights Director for the DFW Chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations and is a committed advocate for social justice and human rights. Prior to joining CAIR, Nikiya managed the immigration legal program at a local refugee resettlement agency and developed her own organization devoted to empowering immigrant and refugee women. Nikiya graduated from the University of Texas School of Law and earned a bachelor's degree in Economics and Anthropology from the University of Pittsburgh. Nikiya is excited to use her expertise and passion to advance the rights of DFW's vibrant Muslim community.

Elizabeth Choudhary Administrative Coordinator

Elizabeth Choudhary joins CAIR DFW as the Administrative Coordinator. She brings along with her years of philanthropic and administrative experience within the DFW area. Her career has been focused primarily with bettering and serving the local Islamic Centers and Schools, including her most recent position as an Administrator at the Islamic School of Irving. Elizabeth is also a mom to three exceptional children.

Sumbel Zeb Government Affairs Coordinator

Sumbel Zeb joins CAIR DFW in the role of Communications and Advocacy Coordinator. She has a background in the non-profit and legal fields, which gave her the opportunity to work primarily with refugee and immigrant communities. She recently graduated from the University of North with a M.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies and a focus on Public Administration, Journalism, and Political Science and earned a B.A. in Political Science from Southern Methodist University. Sumbel looks forward to helping build and strengthen coalitions within North Texas in order to further the goals of CAIR DFW.

FBI Nationwide Meetings with Muslims Updates - CAIR on Call

(Dallas, TX) 11/8/2016 - Since our CAIR-DFW PSA was released on Saturday it has been viewed over 70,000 times and has generated a huge increase in awareness of rights. Our office in Dallas received 200 phone calls in Dallas alone and many more in chapters across the country. 109 people from a variety of states formally reported being contacted for an interview by the FBI.
